Collection: Quartz

Quartz is a mineral composed of silicon and oxygen, with a chemical composition of SiO2. It is the most abundant mineral in Earth's crust and is resistant to both chemical and physical weathering. When rocks weather away, the residual material usually contains quartz.

Quartz is the most common of all minerals. It comes in many forms. Crystals vary in size from tiny particles, glittering on the surface of a rock to pieces that way up to a ton. This mineral can be transparent or translucent in its natural state. It is colorless, but frequently is colored from impurities. Common forms of Quartz are rose, smoky, amethyst, and green. These forms of Quartz may be used in jewelry and as decoration pieces. In it’s pure form, Quartz crystals have many uses. Its uses range from manufacturing of glass to its use in electronic and optical equipment.
